The Acton Boxborough Musical Talent Association emerged in 2018 stemmed from the musical passions of a few high school students. As our musical talents developed and expanded over the years, we realize that there are a limited number of opportunities.
Here at ABMTA, we provide a platform where young musicians can bond with others in the community and expand their musical journeys.
Eddie started the piano at the age of four and the violin at age of eight. He has placed third in the Bay State Piano Contest in 2011, 2017, and 2019 and has been awarded honorable mention in 2015 and 2016. At his elementary and junior high school, he accompanied many songs for their choruses. At his school orchestra in 2017 and 2018, he has successfully learned the viola and cello independently and performed with the orchestra in numerous concerts. He was also awarded the “Outstanding 8th grade orchestra member” that year. He qualified for the MMEA Eastern senior districts in 2018. He has written over 10 original songs and studied at the Berklee Five-Week Performance Program in Boston in the summer of 2018. He studied intensively with Jazz Pianist Kevin Harris of the Berklee Faculty, and currently with singer Rob Woodin. He has been invited to perform at many honored piano recitals, including the CAMSA in 2018 and the NEPTA twice, and also earned a $400 scholarship from CAMSA. He also passed the ABRSM grade 8 piano exam with distinction, earning him “32 credits at level 3,” and therefore he is level III certified by the Associative Board of the Royal Schools of Music. He earned the Diploma of the Associate Board of the Royal Schools of Music in 2020. He also enjoys studying music theory, while putting piano covers on youtube. In addition to music, he enjoys swimming, ranking fourth in NE in 2013 and 2nd in 2015.
